Handmade Veterans Day Party Favors

Veteran’s Day is another patriotic holiday, so be sure to include the American flag in your homemade party favors. Various shapes and sizes of flags can be displayed. You might want to add flag stickers to the edges of an otherwise plain table cloth. In fact, anything can be made exciting and patriotic by adding flags of all kinds.

When you begin with the center of attention, which might be the centerpiece of your party buffet table, your handmade party favors can include a variety of sizes of the American Flag all bunched together in the form of a bouquet. Add curled ribbon in red, white, blue, and even silver or gold, and you have the bouquet of the centerpiece. The weighted base can be Uncle Sam’s hat. This is easy to make from cardboard that bends. It doesn’t really matter if the hat has stripes or not, but if you feel ambitious, then you can add them. One piece of cardboard will need to be rolled into a cylinder. Keep in mind that the bouquet will need to fit into it. Another piece of cardboard will need to be cut into a round piece, and placed underneath the cylindrical hat. There is no need for the top of the hat, as the bouquet will be in it. Place a foam block in the bottom of the cylinder to hold all of the flags. Then you can weight it down with anything heavy that will fit in the bottom, as well.
