The classic super hero, Superman has been remade many times over the years along with his many other super hero friends like Superwoman, Supergirl, Batman and Robin, and even the Flash. He’s gone from the Kansas farm boy to the big city reporter and back again in many recent Superman shows. Some have featured him working on his own; others have connected the superhero with the Justice League and other groups of super heroes working to keep the world safe.
You can also update this great super hero for your kid’s party. Superman is traditionally shown wearing red and blue with the bright yellow ‘S’ emblazoned on his chest, use these colors to decorate your party and search for paper party supplies like plates and tablecloths in this theme if you want to go with the classic Superman look. A more modern superman theme would focus on his nickname as the ‘man of steel’ and you can find there are plenty of party supplies out there with a metallic Superman logo against a black background for this theme. Create an unforgettable Superman themed party with homemade party supplies. Superman is one of the most popular superheroes of all-time so ensure to give the birthday boy (or girl) a SUPER party. Ensure to include plenty of red, blue, and yellow party supplies. For the party table, use a red cloth for the table cover representing Superman’s cape. Use Superman blue chair covers to represent Superman’s tights. Draw a large Superman emblem on a sheet of paper or large posterboard. Depending on the artistic ability of the person doing the drawing will determine how much detail is put into it. Research various projectors on rental and for purchase to help in drawing the Superman emblem or other Superman related drawings (villains).

People of all ages have been collecting Superman items for generations, and many young boys would love to have a Superman themed party for their birthdays, cake and all.
The colors of Superman can come into play when a cake is prepared and decorated. Choose the favorite cake of the guest of honor, and the frosting will be a dark blue and yellow, and black cake decorating gel will also come in handy. Make a stencil out of a sheet of cardboard in the shape of an “S” for Superman. Then use it on top of the cake to outline the S design. Black gel will be needed for this step. Once the S is traced around the cardboard onto the cake, then remove the cardboard and fill in the S with yellow frosting. This is the universal sign for Superman.
A simple round cake will do, but to make it look more like Superman’s cape, a rectangular sheet cake is probably best, decorating it longways.
To add to the theme of this Superman cake, add sugar cubes that have been dipped in green food coloring to play the part of Kryptonite. Sprinkle some green cake decorating glitter around each cube to make them look like they have magical powers.

The Superman logo is easy to draw on but for those who want 100% accuracy, prick holes with toothpicks through a sheet of paper on top of the cake. Once the holes make an outline of the Superman logo, fill in the logo with buttercream or fondant.
