Since Abby Cadabby is a fairy-in-training, you might want to give out wands as part of your party supplies to the guests at your Abby Cadabby party, while they wait for the movie to begin. Be sure the tips at each end are soft and rubbery, as opposed to sharp and pointy, for safety reasons. Abby Cadabby is adored by younger children, and she’s funny, too. So, put smiles on the kids’ faces with lots of fun things to do at the party.

A magician could be very entertaining to young kids. Choose a magician, or clown, that has a great sense of humor to keep the kids busy for a while. As they try and figure out how the trick is being done, another activity can be in store for them afterwards, like a Flying Fairy School segment.

Gather the kids around, have them imagine that it is a breezy, warm day, and they only need to jump a little to be flying. Then watch them pretend to fly around the room. Suggest to them to do it in very slow motion to make it more fun, and to make it safe as well. They might also enjoy a sing-along, as they probably know the words to “I Love Words,” and “Because We’re Friends.”

Abby Cadabby did not appear on Sesame Street before the 37th Season, so she was sort of a late-comer to the show. She is not actually from Sesame Street, but the “other” fairies in her hometown appear to be something like her. For the movie event that the kids will remember, choose some of the shows from Season 37 to 40 to be sure that Abby will be appearing, as they will anticipate.
