Pirate party invitation would be great on a pirate treasure map. The map should show the party location as the spot with the treasure. Try drawing the map on paper that looks like parchment and tear the edges to give them a rounded appearance. Draw a picture of a compass on one side. Put the party information on the sides along with your contact info and the RSVP. Another great invitation idea is to make invitations that look like a pirate's chest. Use a small box and cover it in contact paper. Put an invitation inside as the treasure.

What To Say in the Invitations
On the invitations use a few terms that remind people of pirates like “avast me hearties” and “Aye matey”. You could say something like “Avast me hearties, ye be invited to a Captain's party”. Then add the major points that your guests need to know. Always have the time, date, location and a RSVP. Give your guests any special instructions, like whether or not it is a costume party. If the party is pot luck or chip in make sure the invitation very clearly states that fact.

When To Mail the Invitations
Mail your invitations depending on several factors. Will the guests need extra time to prepare? This may be the case for a costume party. How much time do you need after the guests have sent in their RSVPs to prepare for the party? Is the party happening during a very busy party season? Once you have answered these questions then mail the invitations out three to four weeks in advance if a longer time period is need and two to three weeks in advance if no extra time is needed.
