Have the guest of honor lie down on the couch and let each guest take turns firing psychoanalytical questions at him or her. Do this for about ten minutes then have each of the players outline their diagnoses of what they think could be wrong with the guest of honor. You can all vote and give a best to the best one. They can be sitting or standing. Then start the game by calling out your own name and raising your hands in the air in a cheer. Then the person next to you repeats your name and raises their hands and the person after them and so on until the cheer gets back to you and you raise your hands and call out your name once more. Then the person next to you calls out their own name and raises their hands in a cheer to be ‘rippled’ through the rest of the group until it returns to them. The goal is to keep the cheer going around the circle, even as names change, without faltering until everyone has had a chance to be named at the Over the Hill party game.

UP and OVER BALL: For this game two teams which consist of men and women get into the circle. The teams are at some distance from each other. The men and the women take their turns in the circle. The leader is in the center of the circle. He/she has 2 balls or similar Over the Hill party supplies in his hands (a blue one and a red one). He/she throws the balls to the players and gets them back. The women may catch only the red ball, the men only the blue one. The leader tries to confuse the players: he/she may throw 2 balls at once or pretend that he/she is going to throw the ball in one direction, while he/she is going to throw it in the opposite one. The player who makes a mistake pays a forfeit (fulfils the task) and is out of the game. The team in which more players remain wins. Relax after this game with something more sedate like a Retirement party game.
