Madagascar Berry Pudding With Cream

Madagascar Berry Pudding With Cream has inspired me to keep making more and more its great for kids parties. This Pudding was brought to my attention by my aunt that I love and her cooking is so great. She brought me the recipe and I made it for Tony my son's Madagascar party, it was what had all the parents talking about and asking me and my aunt for the recipe.
1 1/2 pounds fresh raspberries, strawberries, or a combination
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 pint light cream Slivered almonds

Wash and drain berries (or defrost and save liquid). There should be 2 1/2 cups total. If fresh, add 2 cups of water and cook until berries are soft. Add sugar. Mix cornstarch and 2 tablespoons cold water. Add a small amount of berry juice, mix well and stir into berry mixture. Cook, stirring constantly until pudding thickens. Reduce heat, cook 10 minutes. Turn into serving dish. Let stand until cold. When serving, decorate with slivered almonds, passed around the table, followed by a pitcher of cream.

Madagascar the island is well known for its palm and date trees. Set out a few bowls of these exotic delights. A dish of candied dates can be quite tasty if done right for the kids Madagascar party. You can also serve the kids some authentic Varenga, a traditional recipe from the island. It’s basically a Roasted Shredded Beef. Put the roast beef on a sandwich bun or wrap for the kids with their favorite sauces or cheese. Also serve up a tasty fruit compote for dessert with island fruits like: pineapple, cantaloupe, oranges, strawberries, sugar, lemon juice and lots of vanilla.

You’ll need for this Roast Beef Dish: 4 lbs. boneless chuck, cut in 1-inch pieces, 1 quart water, 2 Tbs. salt, 2 cloves garlic, minced finely, and 1 cup onion, sliced.

Place all of the ingredients, including boneless chuck in a large pot with the water and cover. Bring to a boil. Turn down heat and let simmer for 2 hours or until meat can be shredded with a fork. Add water as necessary to keep meat simmering. Remove meat from pot and shred by cutting into thin strips. Place the shredded meat and remaining water/sauce from pot into a greased 9x12 inch baking pan. Roast the meat mix at 400 degrees for 30 minutes or until it’s browned on top. Can be served with white rice. This authentic dish from Madagascar can be a real hit at your movie party or even a Survivor party. Don’t forget to pick up plenty of paper plates and napkins for the guests to use while eating. By just adding even one simple food item to the menu will help create a complete Madagascar theme party feeling.
