The 1960s were an incredible time and the Hippies are a symbol of that entire generation. If you are planning a Hippies party consider invitations on multicolor paper that are rolled into a scroll and tied with a tie dyed bandana. You could also make invitations that have a peace sign cutout of poster board, complete with a ribbon so it can be tied around the neck. Also consider an invitation with peace signs and doves of peace that have a pair of love beads slipped into the envelope with them. All these early party favors can be worn by the guests at the party.

What To Say in the Invitations
Once you have the invitations you will want to use wording that recalls the hippie generation. Make sure that you put in the, time, date and location. Also add an RSVP and suggest that they wear the love beads or bandana or handmade peace sign to the party. Also put a reply by date on the invitations so you will have an idea of how many guests to prepare for at the party. Be sure and mention if it is an all out costume party or if the guests should come in outfits that remind them of the 1960s.

When To Mail the Invitations
Mail the invitations about two to three weeks before the party. If the party is during a time when there will be a lot of parties then you might want to mail the invites out three to four weeks ahead of time. Be sure to add a “reply by” date. This will help both you and the guests to prepare.
