Hawaiian Luau COOKIES

A Hawaiian themed party is a great way to celebrate the dog days of summer and homemade cookies will make the perfect place cards. There are varieties of different Hawaiian themed ideas to choose from that will give each of your guests their very own place card. Here is one example that one can choose.

One will need to prepare a basic sugar cookie recipe to create the design of the homemade cookies. Once this is done, one will need a pastry knife to create the shape of an island and a basic template of the island that you are considering for the cookie. The template will have to be scaled down to fit the size of the cookie. One will also need plastic surf boards that can be found at any local craft or party store. Finally you will need black frosting or piping gel, chocolate sprinkle balls to act as the black sand found in Hawaii.

To begin one will need to roll out the homemade cookie dough and cut the island out of the dough using the template. Next, carefully transfer to the cookie sheet and bake and cool. Once cool apply a thin coat of blue to represent water and act as glue. Then, gently sprinkle the chocolate sprinkles over the cookie to make the sand. Lay the surfboard onto the cookie. Finally, take the piping gel and write the name of the person for the place card onto the surf board.

The guests will just love these unique homemade cookies and the fact that they can eat their place card after the party. But, please do not let them eat the surfboard.
