What To Say in the Fireman Invitations
Call all the children to help at a “three alarm party”. Tell them that they are honorary firemen for the day and that they have been assigned to the fire station at the party address. Go on to say that they will be proving what great firemen they are at a “fireman camp” that will be held at the party and that everyone who completes the camp will be given a fireman's hat. Of course the hats are their party favors. Be sure and send a little note to the parents explaining just what the “fireman's camp” will be and if the kids need to wear old clothes. Put the time, date, and location on the invitations.
When To Mail the Invitations
Mail the invitations about three weeks in advance and ask for an RSVP from the parents. If the parents are being asked to stay and help ask them to RSVP that as well. Giving the parents a good three week notice will let them plan and schedule time for the party.
Be sure to mail the invitations in time to get the RSVPs back so you can plan for the correct number of children and know if any parents will be helping at the party.
When To Mail the Thank You Notes
Mailing thank you notes is a great way to let your guests and their parents know that you appreciated them coming to the party. If some of the parents stayed to help at the party be sure to mention that in the thank you note. The notes themselves should be mailed within a week of the party. Two weeks is acceptable but try not to go longer than that.
