| CLAMBAKE TREASURE HUNTING GAME: Organize a treasure hunt for teams of 4-6. Give each person with their invitation their first 'clue' as to what team they will belong to. Then, once they arrive at the Clambake Party, do a quick "Who Am I?" game to get everyone to figure out whose team they are on. (For example, guests are told in the invitations that they are on the Pirates Ahoy! Team, but aren't allowed to tell anyone this. When they arrive at the party, they are to figure out whose team they are only by asking questions. However, they cannot out & out ask, "What team are you on?"). Once the teams have found each other, get everyone to piece together their clues they got with their invites to find the next clue. This should continue (about an hour for adults, about 15-30 for kids) until the final 'prize' is found, which could easily tokens for more clams or a treasure chest full of chocolate coins. Lots more

Clambake MENU IDEAS |
 |
A clambake is just another beach party without a clambake menu. Clambakes are not just from the 1950’s beach movies but are a party for people of all ages. Kick up the sand with a delicious menu to please all the big kahunas.
Start off an evening clambake by serving the guests chilled white wine. A chardonnay or Riesling adds a nice crisp touch to the beginning of the festivities. Once everyone has their glass in hand, have someone walk around serving clam and artichoke dip.
To make clam and artichoke dip the following ingredients are required: 1 can Whole Baby Clams, drained; 1 can artichokes in water, drained; 1 cup mayonnaise; ¼ tsp. cayenne pepper; and ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese. Have the oven ready at 375ºF. Place all ingredients in food processor fitted with steel blade. Process until almost smooth. Place in an oven safe dish and bake for 10 to 15 minutes until brown and bubbly. Serve with pita crisps and cucumber rounds.
After the clam and artichoke dip is devoured it’s time for the main course of the clambake. Serve steamed clams, sweet corn, mussels and lobster to the guests for a dinner to die for! Pick the chef’s favorite way to steam the shellfish as there are a variety of ways to prepare steamed clams, mussels and lobster. It’s important to remember that the clams and mussels that do not open after steaming are not safe to serve to guests.
Remember that a clambake does not have to be at a beach party to be fun. Use imagination and creativity to throw a clambake off shore! By just adding even one simple food item to the menu will help create
a complete Clambake theme party feeling. |
