Casino COOKIES

Homemade casino inspired cookies are just the perfect dessert for your casino party crowd. Any plain cookie can be made to look like a casino chip with food coloring along the edges and some designs in the middle. So experiment!

A simple butter cookie recipe might be the perfect one for your homemade casino theme cookies. Mix one cup of butter, one cup of sugar, one egg, a teaspoon of baking powder, two tablespoons or orange juice, and a teaspoon of vanilla together. Mix these ingredients all together with an electric mixer until the consistency is fluffy. Gradually stir in 2 ½ cups of flour until it is well mixed. This mixture then needs to be chilled for about 3 hours in the refrigerator. After that time, it will be firm enough to roll out with a rolling pin.

Now it’s time to bake the homemade casino cookies. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Then roll out half of the dough at a time on a floured board about 1/8 to ¼” thick. Cut with a roll cookie cutter to make it into the shape of a casino chip. Then place the cookies onto greased cookie sheets. Bake 6 to 10 minutes until the edges of the cookies are light brown. Remove them from the oven and the cookie sheet and cool them on a wire rack. After their cooled, they are ready for decorating.
