Baby Shower THEME |
 |
Personalized Baby Shower invitations can add that special touch to your event. Even if you’ve already had the baby that doesn’t mean you can’t still hold a baby shower. If anything having the baby on hand can encourage more guests to show up at the party with lots of needed gift items. Make sure to tell guests on the invitations that this is a post-delivery shower, and indicate on the invitations what items would be the most appreciated. Do be certain to tell everyone that they needn’t feel obligated, especially if they already donated stuff before the baby was born and they certainly don’t have to bring something from the list if they happen to have a baby item on hand just bring it on over.
Also you’ll want to give your guests a little something in return for taking the time to buy or bring a needed item and coming over to celebrate this special holiday. There are two ways that work best. One, you feed them some good food and two; give them a little memento of the baby to remember.
It’s easy to make up a quick buffet of food such as cold cuts, relish dishes and a box of donuts. Drinks can be sodas, water, tea and coffee. Serve it up on baby shower themed paper supplies like napkins, tablecloth, and paper plates and it will be even easier to clean up.
The memento of the baby can be something as simple as a homemade card with the baby’s footprint. You can create this by pressing his or her little foot against an ink pad like they do at hospitals, and pressing it against the inside of the card. Then, you can add even more to the card by taping a photo of the baby on the opposite inside face of the card. These make great party favors to give to the guests, especially if most of them will be close family.

Baby Shower Cake Ideas
A personalized baby shower theme cake is the best way to go when throwing a baby shower. Using the typical blue for boy, pink for a girl and yellow as a neutral color will be perfect for the cake and party supplies both.
Creating a baby shower cake is easy and fun. You will need to gather the following things:
A cake of your choice
3” to 5” inch mirror – like the ones candles are placed on
Newborn baby shoes or booties
Theme color curling ribbon
Scissors, hot glue, hot glue gun
Icing and an icing bag with tips or piping gel
First, wash the mirror well, including the bottom; this will be touching the cake so it needs to be very clean. Next, place it on a clean surface, trying not to touch the bottom too much. Place a few dabs of hot glue on the mirror (wherever you would like) and place one shoe down. You can place the other shoe however you would like; slightly on top, on the side, etc. Be sure the shoes are glued well in place. When finished, place the mirror with the shoes where you want on the cake.
Curl the ribbon with the scissors and make a bunch of curls. Tie a gathering together with the uncurled ribbon and then place them to decorate the top of the cake by the shoes and more.
Finally, finish off the cake with the babies name or “congratulations.” This is one baby shower theme cake that will not be forgotten!

Baby Shower Party Music Play Lists
When first compiling a baby shower themed song playlist, you may be at a loss. After all, what type of music should be played at a baby shower? There are two ways you can compile your list; one is to pick songs that have “baby” in them or simply have popular music with “themed” songs thrown in the mix.
If you are a stickler for sticking solely to the theme of a baby shower and feel all party supplies should follow suite, go with the baby themed songs such as:
Pete Seeger – A Little Brand New Baby
Smokey Robinson and the Miracles - Ooo Baby Baby
The Supremes – Baby Love
Janis Joplin – Cry baby
TLC – Baby, Baby, Baby
If sticking with only songs that have “baby” in them is not for you, mix them in with popular songs of 2011 or earlier. This could include songs by Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas and more. There are plenty of great hits to include in your playlist with some “baby” themed songs to fill in between.
Do not feel like you are stuck to conforming to the traditional theme of a baby shower. Have a playlist that reflects the personality of the mother to be. Ten to one, the people at the baby shower will have the same feel for music as the mother – plus or minus a few people.
